How to Configure Assessment

Modified on Wed, 27 Aug at 12:26 PM

This article explains how to configure assessment scales, parameters, and indicators in e-Schooling, both at the course and class levels. Proper configuration allows teachers to record and monitor student performance in a structured and effective way.

1.    Configure Assessment Scales

Before setting up assessment parameters, make sure the assessment scales are defined:

Go to Settings > Pedagogical Settings > Scales

You can edit existing scales or create new ones:

  • Choose the type (quantitative, qualitative, binary, emojis, etc.)
  • Define the scale values (manual or automatic)
  • Set the passing value

Scales can be converted between types (e.g., from quantitative to qualitative).

2.    Configure Assessment at the Course Level

Course-level configuration serves as a template for classes:

Go to Management > Courses and select the course

In the Assessments menu, configure by subject and by term

For each term, add assessment elements:

  • Choose the type (scale, numeric, text, selectable)

  • Associate the desired scale

  • Define the roles allowed to enter grades

The configuration made at the course level will be inherited by classes created from that template.

3.    Configure Assessment at the Class Level

Access the class and click Edit in the assessment grid

Enable or disable subjects for assessment

Configure by term and by academic year:

  • Add groups of parameters and assessment elements

  • Define assessment type, scales, roles, and evaluable students

  • You can configure whether approval is required and who can approve

Assessment configuration in e-Schooling allows the system to be adapted to the pedagogical needs of each school. With well-defined scales, parameters, and indicators, it is possible to ensure fair, transparent, and goal-aligned evaluation.
