This article guides users on how to configure scale conversion rules in the e-Schooling system. This feature allows values from one scale (e.g., quantitative) to be automatically converted into another (e.g., qualitative), ensuring consistency in the presentation of final assessments.
1. Accessing Scale Settings
From the side menu, go to:
Settings » Academic » Scales
2. Creating a Scale Conversion Rule
Select the source scale you want to convert
(e.g., quantitative scale from 1 to 5)
Click on “Scale Conversion” to create a new conversion rule
In the selection field, choose the target scale
(e.g., qualitative scale) Define the mapping between values from the source scale and the target scale, specifying how each value should be interpreted after conversion.
As an example, when translating a quantitative scale (1 to 5) into a qualitative one, the following mapping can be used:
• 1 → Not Satisfactory (NS)
• 2 → Not Satisfactory (NS)
• 3 → Satisfactory (S)
• 4 → Very Satisfactory (VS)
• 5 → Excellent (E)
Scale conversion is a powerful tool for ensuring flexibility and consistency in student assessment. Make sure all conversion rules are clearly defined and tested before applying them to official evaluations.
