In e-Schooling, the enrollment process is divided into two levels: the course and the curricular units. The course represents the full academic path the student will follow (e.g., “Secondary Education”), while the curricular units are the components of that course, such as subjects, modules, or specific activities.
While enrolling in a course indicates that the student is formally registered in the academic program, enrolling in curricular units allows for tracking progress in each individual component. This article focuses on configuring course enrollment statuses, which help identify the student’s stage in the academic journey from initial registration to completion.
1. Accessing the Configuration
To configure course enrollment statuses, go to:
Settings » Academic » Support Tables » Course Enrollment Status
2. Understanding Enrollment Statuses
Enrollment statuses represent the student’s current standing in relation to the course.
Examples:
- Initial: Enrolled, Pre-registered
- Final: Passed, Failed, Completed
It is mandatory to configure at least one default initial status and one final status. Without these, the system will not allow the enrollment process to be completed.
3. Creating and Configuring Statuses
Click the “+” button to add a new status
Enter the name
e.g., “Pre-registered”
Indicate whether the status is initial or final, and if applicable, set it as the default initial status to be automatically assigned during enrollment.
Associate the status with the relevant course types and education levels
4. Ongoing Updates
Whenever new course types or education levels are created, it is necessary to:
- Return to the Course Enrollment Status support table
- Link the new options to the existing statuses, ensuring the system correctly recognizes enrollment states for each academic structure
